FIFA has confirmed it is monitoring the situation in Georgia, who are due to host Republic of Ireland in a South Africa 2010 qualifier on 6 September.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has handed Peruvian forward Jose Paolo Guerrero a six-game ban for insulting the match official during a South Africa 2010 qualifier.
